Victoria University of Wellington

Victoria is located in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, in close proximity to the country’s archives and national collection libraries and the wealth of research institutions concentrated there. Victoria is a comprehensive university with a strong research focus. The University was established in 1899, making it among the oldest universities in New Zealand.

Victoria prides itself as a university with a significant international focus and a strong domestic base. Victoria has extensive collaborative and student exchange links with renowned universities throughout the Pacific, Asia, North and South America and Europe.

The University enrols over 21,000 students each year including close to 3,000 international students from around 80 countries. Over 20% of the Victoria student population are studying at postgraduate level.
